How To Help Your Neighbors in a Tragedy

With some ideas from Buzzfeed, here's a bunch of ideas to help those in Oklahoma City or if a disaster hits close to home.

  •
We are Nashville. We want to help. Here's some ideas to help the people of Oklahoma. These also apply if we have a disaster here in our area.
  •
First. Know your neighbors. Meet them. Better now than when chaos is around you.
  •
Find out from authorities exactly where your help is needed. You don't want to be in the way while trying to help. They know where to send you.
  •
    Feed workers if you can.
  •
If you have any services to offer, let people know.
  •
Share what you can, even if it's just a plug.
  •
Sometimes people just need some space or wifi to let relatives know where they are and if they're safe.
  •
Donate blood. Donate platelets. When an area needs it, the blood here may go there. Replenish the local supply.
  •
Show people you care any way you can. Make signs. Pray.
  •
Do the little things for people who's life i turned upsid down. Even if it's just walking their dogs.
  •
Baked goods are never a bad idea.
  •
Keep rolling up your sleeves, even after the media attention trails off. People need help for a long time.
